Nyungwe National Park lies in southwest Rwanda, partly abutting the Burundi border. It’s a vast area of mountain rainforest, home to many species of chimpanzees, plus owl-faced and colobus monkeys. The Canopy Walkway, part of the Igishigishigi Trail, is a high-suspension bridge with views over the valley and surrounding forests. A trail runs to the Kamiranzovu Marsh, with its bird-life, orchids and waterfall.

Itinerary
Depart from Kigali at 6:20 am and head to Nyungwe forest National Park and you will have your lunch in Huye and depart towards the park for canopy walk, this is the hanging platform which allows safari enthusiasts a chance to view all flora and fauna from a different angle and alleviation which is the forest canopy on your first day in Nyungwe National Park.
Wake up early for breakfast of 4:20 am and head to the park office for briefing at 4:50. it is time to meet our closest relatives, the chimpanzees. The humans and the chimpanzees share 98% of their DNA, making them more exciting to be observed, most especially when they display what we call human behavior. Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe forest starts early morning. The tourists spend only 1 hour with the chimpanzees in Nyungwe forest, and get to observe them so closely going through their own lives and see the human like features and behavior that makes them our closest relatives. It’s such a hair rising moment like no other and so memorable. After trekking, drive and Return for lunch at your hotel.
Wake up early for breakfast drive to the park reception to meet with the park guide for the briefing about the trail. the Kamiranzovu Trail starts somewhere between Uwinka and Gisakura, and runs for about 4km to Kamiranzovu Swamp. Sadly, the last elephant was shot here in 1999, though the swamplands are still your best bet for spotting other large mammals. Even if you don’t come across any other fauna, this trail is particularly famous for its rare species of orchids and birds, including the greater swamp warbler. After the trail you will back to your hotel for lunch and check out. then drive to Kigali, in the way you will visit king palace at Nyanza where you will get information and history of Rwandan kings. After head to Kigali. End of tour.
